Note from the board regarding roads
-
- Timberline Creek has more than 17 miles of privately-maintained roads. All roads are graded gravel and are 20’ wide or less allowing for cautious movement in both directions. Use pull outs, especially in winter time, to allow vehicles with right of way to pass. The posted speed limit is 20 mph, however, with the mountain terrain, switchbacks, livestock, no shoulders and steep drop-offs beside the roads in many areas, we ask that drivers use discretion and travel at slower speeds where conditions mandate.
- Outbound vehicles have right of way, except on steep grades.
- The rail crossing is single lane only, incoming vehicles please yield to outbound traffic. When waiting for a train, incoming vehicles should be parked to the side of the road to allow for outbound vehicles to pass.
- Yield to heavy equipment, they generally are less maneuverable and require more of the roadway.
- To minimize creating washboard on roads, use 4WD or AWD at all times and observe speed limits.
Winter driving conditionsSnow tires are highly recommended, all terrain tires are not adequate.
- During heavy snows tire chains may be required.
- Stop to assist your neighbor, cell phone reception is very intermittent in many parts of the neighborhood.
