Grader Status and road condition.

The grader is still out of service due to delays in obtaining parts. We now expect the the grader to be back in service by Friday. We have been using a third party to grade the snow and slush off of the roads. They can only do so much given the excessive snow and ice buildup this year. The run off is heavy and there is little we can do about it.It is too early to begin addressing the potholes. Please feel free to contact me if you have a specific concern. Road grading

Road grading will begin this morning. We will start with a few spots on Woodchuck and proceed to Winchester. We will work on other roads based on conditions. The focus will be to remove slush and ice and to facilitate drainage. Sent from my iPhone

Plowing 3/17 & Grader Status

All main and most secondary roads have been plowed except Peak which is being plowed today.
With the current forecast ice may begin to develop in some areas, we will sand as needed if that happens.
Parts to repair our grader shipped this week and should arrive at our mechanics facility early next week. Our grader may be back in operation by the end of next week, but more likely early 3/25 week.

Plowing 3/16

Our grader is still in the shop waiting for parts to fix the rear drive train (4 rear wheels). So a neighbor with a road construction business, Bill Harrison, has been willing to give us some help while our grader is being repaired.
Grading will continue tomorrow on Sundown, Game Trail, Peacemaker, and Rifle. Keep in mind this a operator who does not know our roads, but is very capable and trying to do his best to clear the new snow and old slush.

Plowing 3/15

We hired a neighbor, Bill Harrison who lives on Mountain Moose Rd., to help with our roads. He did the work for us on Woodchuck Tue.. He will be working Colt and Winchester today. After he gets the slush off we will come back and lay down sand.
Will do other roads after Colt and Winchester as necessary.

Road Conditions 3/15

Sanding will be delayed until we can get the slush off off of some critical areas on High Ridge, Colt, Winchester, and Sundown. With the rain some areas now have 8-10″ of slush. Suggest you chain up before going anywhere the next couple days.
The grader is still in the shop, but Bill Harrison, the guy did the work on Woodchuck may be able to help on our secondary roads – I do not have an answer from him yet.
In the mean time would appreciate help from anyone with a plow truck. But be careful, the edges are soft, do not try to move the snow/slush oft the shoulders. We just need a good path down the center.

Sand Secondary Rds

Woodchuck has been and will continue to be graded to move the slush/ice off as much as possible. The secondary roads – Winchester, Sundown, Colt, High Ridge, Peak and feeder roads will be sanded starting tomorrow.

The grader is still in the shop waiting for parts to complete the repair of the drive train for the rear tandem wheels. Parts should be here before end to the week and the grader back in operation before end of next week.

Snow Plowing the Bad News

The grader is still I n Belgrade for repairs. Best case is that it will be back in service by the end of the day Friday. We have spent a lot of time trying to find an outfit to plow the roads. So far we have not been able to find someone. We will have to rely on the civic responsibility of our neighbors to keep the roads passable this week. Thank you to the many residents who have helped in keeping the roads open in the past.
Regards Pete Moncada 843-696-3089 As usual feel free to call if you have questions.
